is a subsidiary Primus Telecommunications, one of the world’s largest
international telecom providers, offering Internet, wireless, voice and data
services, including VOIP service to 150 countries.
Headquartered in McLean, Virginia, Lingo claims to have some of the lowest rate service plans around.
If you do lots of international calling to Asia or Europe, then consider Lingo.
To make long distance or overseas calls, Lingo lets you have up to three phone numbers from your own area code, from another state or province, or from another country. When friends or family from that country call you, they will only be charged for a local call.
The cost of adding these Lingo international phone numbers to your plan is $5 per month for Canada numbers and $10 per month for any number in the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, South Korea, Spain, and United Kingdom.
Some critics have said that call quality may not be as clear as other service providers, such as Vonage. However, before you decide, research Lingo reviews at reputable sites such as www.VOIPReview.org and weigh your findings against the cost savings and benefits of cheap overseas calls.

- For unlimited calling to the U.S., Canada, and Western Europe, you pay $19.95/month. Compared with Vonage at $24,95 a month, Lingo comes in slightly cheaper.
- Business plans start at $29.95 for unlimited calls to the U.S., Canada, and Western Europe, including fax support.
